It will cause things to change; the invention of pencil and paper was devistating to the chalk and chalkboard industry. Before the invention of the home freezer, there was a booming industry that thrived on delivering frozen blocks of ice water from the polar north to homes in warmer climates.

I see the utility of AI, but I also see a greater promise. AI is going to teach us things about awareness, consciousness, thinking, creativity... About life itself. AI is going to usher us into a new era, like the industrial revolution and the digital revolution before it, we can look forward to a future where things like human mistakes, are going to become a minor nuissance in the grand scheme of things; doctors missing something on an xray will become a thing of the past.
